10th Anniversary Patron
We are delighted to announce that Rosalind Plowright OBE has accepted to become our 10th Anniversary Patron. Rosalind has supported the charity since it was founded in 1998, and has given two recitals to raise funds and awareness. Her first recital in January 1999 filled the Godolphin School's Blackledge Theatre. To celebrate the charity's 5th Anniversary Rosalind opened a Gala Concert with Sir John Tooley and James Bowman CBE. Today she is sought after as one of the world's leading mezzo sopranos. On being asked to join Patron and President Chris Moon MBE and Andrew Harvey as our 10th Anniversary Parton Rosalind said:
"I am both honoured and delighted to be asked to be the 10th Anniversary Patron of Children’s Chance. When I came to Salisbury in 1998, knowing no-one here at all, it was Childrens Chance who kindly allowed me to raise my profile by taking part in their first ever fund raising concert at Godolphin School. I have followed the development of Childrens Chance through their regular newsletter and took part in their 5 year anniversary. Having just finished a season which has taken me to Covent Garden, The Metropolitan Opera and Paris, it is with pleasure that I hope to find myself singing again for Children’s Chance to mark their 10th anniversary and with pride that it will be as their 10th anniversary Patron".
