NICHOLAS: CHAMBER CONCERT TOUR TO PARIS supported by Health Visitor Nicholas has supported his father and younger brother (who has learning difficulties) for some years and at times has been his brother's main carer. He hugely deserves the opportunity of this tour. It would be impossible for his mother to fund this amount of money.
STEVEN age 12: TENNIS COACHING supported by Headteacher Steven is an exceptionally talented tennis player. He has represented County for the past five years and has represented the County in the U 18 team. Steven's 5 year old sister has cerebral palsy and will never walk, and his father has been seriously ill. Steven's parents are carers for his sister and live on a low income and income support. He would be a very worthwhile recipient of this award.
SUSIE: STAGECOACH THEATRE ARTS SCHOOL supported by GP Susie's family live on a low income and are supported by Child Tax Credit and Income Support. I'm sure she would benefit enormously and this would help improve her self confidence. (Susie has since gone on to take her first LAMDA exam and passed with distinction).
HELEN age 10: CAMP ENERGY (Salisbury Leisure Centre) supported by Health Visitor Helen's brother is disabled with autism. It would be lovely for her to have some special activity for herself as much of the family time is concentrated on him and this causes family stress. Family are supported by disability allowance.
ADAM: 2 DAY FOOTBALL COURSE supported by Health Visitor Family receives incapacity benefit. Mother has very little spare money for her children to have treats. She is trying hard to provide Adam with such opportunities as the "Soccerworks" days.
DAISY age 7: STAGECOACH THEATRE ARTS SCHOOL supported by Headteacher Daisy benefits in many ways from the opportunity to express herself in dance and drama. Stagecoach would provide her with the opportunity to do this regularly. Both parents work full time and are supported by child tax credit.
AMY age 9: SAYM CONCERT TOUR supported by Diocese of Salisbury Director of Training Amy is a principal in the orchestra. Mother is a teacher. Father receives disability living allowance. Amy is diligent in all that she undertakes musically and otherwise. I very much hope that you will be able to assist her - she really deserves to go!
SARAH age 13: SCHOOL TRIP supported by Social Worker Sarah's father was diagnosed with cancer in February. Sarah's mother is a health care support worker in the hospital. She has had to stop working extra shifts as she is supporting her husband through his treatment.
JOSHUA: SCHOOL TENNIS LEAGUE supported by Headteacher Both parent and pupil are loyal and hardworking supporters of the school. They are the last people to ask for assistance but very deserving of it in our opinion. Family live on income support and incapacity benefit.
PHILIP AND HELEN: MUSIC LESSONS SUPPORTED BY HEADTEACHER "This is a deserving case because Mr X died two years ago and Mum is trying to bring up the children on her own.
JESSICA: TENNIS COACHING SUPPORTED BY HEADTEACHER "Jessica has the potential to reach higher standards in tennis, if given the opportunity. Her mother is very supportive, but at the moment needs extra funds for her additional coaching. Jessica's mother is a lone parent and a full time carer for her own mother, who has dementia".
HEATHER: GUITAR LESSONS SUPPORTED BY HEALTH VISITOR "She used to receive guitar lessons but after her father left the family there was no money to enable her to continue. Apparently she was showing considerable promise and enjoyed playing".
CHRIS: SWIMMING LESSONS SUPPORTED BY HEALTH VISITOR. "Chris is 5 and has never swum before. His older brother experienced difficulties in the swimming pool recently as he could not swim well. His parents are keen for all their children to learn but they are a large family on a low income".
Some of our many thank you letters and cards.
Every application has to be supported by a 'caring professional' and the money always goes to the service provider (such as the music teacher) never the family. Applications may be renewed to give children on-going tuition and continuity. |
